You’ve gathered all of your resources and you’re ready to start building your first house, except… where do you start? In this blog post, I will be sharing four easy Minecraft house layout shapes (along with build tutorial examples) you can try if you’re just starting out!

Minecraft House Layout #1 (Square Shape)

The first Minecraft house layout you can try is the square shape layout. This layout is ideal for a number of reasons! It’s easy, comfortable, and very appealing for most players. The smallest square shape house layout I would recommend starting out with is a 5x5 as shown above. You can create the most cozy space by using this simple layout.

Minecraft House Layout #2 (Rectangle Shape)

The next Minecraft house layout you can try that is very similar to the square layout is the rectangle layout! Much like the square layout, the rectangle layout is very simple and approachable for most players when starting out. This house layout is perfect for those wanting a little more space than the square shape house.

Minecraft House Layout #3 (Plus Shape)

The next Minecraft house layout plan is what I call the plus shape layout (because it looks like a plus sign!). This layout is very simple to copy as shown above and would be perfect if you’re going for a mushroom house!

Last, but not least, is the l-shape house. This layout creates wide open spaces and has more of an indoor/outdoor feel depending on how you design it. I love adding porches to an l-shape house because you can utilize the negative area outside the “l” to create a “rectangle” layout, even though the house itself is l-shape.
