Minecraft: How to Build a Charming Chicken Coop Farm with Automatic Egg Collection

Learn how to build the most charming chicken coop farm with automatic egg collection. This chicken coop house has a cozy indoor space for your chickens and a small, secure outdoor area for them to go outside for some fresh air.

Before we get into the tutorial, please make sure you download our Material Checklist right above so that you can have it on hand to help keep track of the materials while you collect resources.


Minecraft: How to Build a Charming Chicken Coop Farm with Automatic Egg Collection Tutorial

STEP 1. Layout Dimensions

STEP 2.

Place the hopper facing the chest as shown above.

Then place the hopper facing up as shown above.

Lastly, place the hopper facing down as shown above.

STEP 3. Build the Walls

In the front and back of the house (from left to right), build 5 blocks up, then 6 blocks up, then 7 blocks up, then 6 blocks up, then 5 blocks up with quartz pillar.

This is what you should end up with once the walls are fully built out.

STEP 4. Build the Roof

In the photo above, you’re going to copy the pattern above and replace the placeholder stairs with spruce stairs, spruce planks, and spruce slabs.

To the left of the house, we’ll build the enclosed pen area covering with campfires and spruce slabs. To put out the campfire, use a shovel and right-click over it.

STEP 5. Doors & Windows

STEP 6. Enclosed Chicken Pen

Use a combination of stone brick walls and mossy stone brick walls.

Use spruce fence to finish off closing the chicken enclosure.

STEP 7. Landscape Design

  • Oak leaves

  • Lanterns

  • Oak button

  • Shovel *to create pathway to egg collection chest

  • Dandelion

STEP 8. Interior

Pour water into the open spots.

Place a spruce slab over the water.

Then, place an item frame with an egg over the spruce slabs.

Place a yellow horn coral fan and a placeholder block behind where the chest outside is located.

Remove 1 block of quartz pillar above the chest and place a quartz stairs as shown above.

Remove the placeholder block and add brown carpet on top of the hoppers.

STEP 9. Outdoor Pen Design

The ground is a combination of dirt and podzol.
